Profile

  • Greek artist born in Arta.

He is part of a generation of contemporary artists who have never stopped defending colour. He continues to believe in the energy of colour and its power to shape our perception of the world. Without hesitation, Tassos throws himself headlong into it.

He creates vibrant abstract paintings, playing with an accumulation of heterogeneous visual signals—composing informal arrangements of lines and colours on the canvas. He explores a rich visual vocabulary that contributes to each composition, including broad strokes, drips, monochromes, tree-like figures, overlays, stains, erasures, dots, and flat surfaces.

These techniques enable him to approach painting and colour as living, autonomous substances that move within his creative space, which he describes as a microcosm. The elements come to life in a chaotic tangle. The gaze may sometimes be lost in areas without a fixed point, yet it is inevitably transported.

At the heart of these eruptions of paint, we witness a constant struggle between the autonomous forms of colour and the artist’s gestures. The presence of an imposing painting dissolves the bodies created by the movement of the line. In this wild choreography, the line sometimes loses its momentum. From this tumultuous encounter, colour emerges as a celestial entity—so robust and solid that it absorbs all surrounding energy.

He lives and works in Greece.
